Documents
Documents is a general file library for your business — a single place to store and find files that aren't tied to one specific transaction, such as contracts, licenses, or HR paperwork. It also shows you, in one place, every file that's been attached to a transaction or a payment elsewhere in the app, so you don't have to hunt through individual records to find a receipt or attachment.
Uploading a Document
- Go to Documents.
- Click Upload.
- Drag and drop a file onto the upload area, or click it to choose a file from your computer.
- Enter a Document Name (pre-filled from the file name, but you can change it).
- (Optional) Enter a Group to categorize it — for example "Contracts", "Invoices", or "HR". Groups you've used before appear as filter options on the main Documents screen.
- (Optional) Add Notes.
- Click Upload.
Browsing Documents
The Documents screen shows every file as a tile, whichever of the following it is:
| Badge | Source |
|---|---|
| Doc | A file you uploaded directly through this screen |
| Txn | A file attached to a transaction (invoice, bill, expense, etc.) |
| Pmt | A file attached to a payment |
Use the Group dropdown to filter down to a specific category of uploaded document. Click the download icon on any tile to open the file. For files attached to a transaction or payment, click the eye icon to jump straight to that transaction or payment.
Documents you uploaded directly can be deleted from here with the trash icon. Files attached to a transaction or payment can only be removed by editing that transaction or payment directly.
Storage Limits
Storage for documents is shared across everything in your library — uploaded files as well as files attached to transactions and payments — and the amount available depends on your subscription plan:
| Plan | Storage |
|---|---|
| Free | 100 MB |
| Standard | 1 GB |
| Premium | 10 GB |
| Enterprise | 100 GB |
A storage bar at the top of the Documents screen shows how much you've used. Once you reach your limit, uploads are blocked until you delete files or upgrade your plan.
